Did you know that the Schmittenhof is located in one of the best ski mountaineering regions of the country? Tackling the mountains on touring skis when the weather conditions are right is a unique experience. One special insider tip is the Ronachkopf, located across from Zell am See in Thumersbach. A whole mountain just for ski mountaineers.

Previously the site of the chairlift unlocking the ski region of Thumersbach, it now hosts a variety-packed tour for beginners and more advanced skiers. At 2.5 km in length and some 500 metres altitude, a superb view to the Schmittenhöhe and the surrounding mountain panorama awaits.

After a leisurely refreshment stop in the Enzianhütte you can look forward to heading down the slopes – the perfect way to cap off your alpine day.
